Tourist travels from Cambodia to Thailand, and there are many ways to Travel from Siem reap to Bangkok. However, it depends upon the budget, time a tourist wants to spend. The fastest way to reach Bangkok is by plane, and cheapest is to travel by bus, comfort journey in Train whereas Taxi is an adventurous experience.

Travel from Siem Reap to Bangkok By Plane-

It is the shortest journey from Siem reap to Bangkok, which takes 1hour 5min approx to reach the neighboring city. Few airlines fly daily from Cambodia, such as Local airline Cambodia Angkor Air, AirAsia lands at Don Muang Airport in Bangkok, offers cheapest flights at 51 USD. While flights like Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, and Thai Smile are pretty expensive, they land at Suvarnabhumi Airport, costs around 107USD. After landing, go through the immigration process and then grab a local transport to travel to the city. It is the fastest way to travel to Bangkok city from Siem reap.

Travel By Bus-

There are various options available for traveling via bus, i.e., by taking a direct bus or minibus. The train journey takes about 9 hours approx. A direct bus is where you don’t have to change buses after the border, and it drops you directly at Bangkok. There are three such buses, i.e., Nattakan, Travel mart, and Giant Ibis, that costs around 20-32 USD. 

Giant Ibis picks you up from your hotel, Nattakan bus travels from Hang Tep Hotel in Siem Reap to Mo Chit Bus Terminal in northern Bangkok. Travel mart travels from Virak Buntham Express Tour, at Sivutha Blvd to Khao San Road.

A minibus service also offers a direct route. However, it is advisable to book a minibus till Poipet and then take another transport to travel to Bangkok. A minibus takes up to 10-12 hours to reach and costs around 12-20 USD.

All the buses stop at the Cambodian border for the immigration process and take extra few hours to reach the city. However, it is the cheapest mode of travel.

Travel from Siem Reap to Bangkok By Taxi-

It is the most expensive option considering land transports. A taxi from Siem reap will take 2 hours approx to reach Poipet, which costs around 30 USD. You need to book another cab after crossing the border. Many taxies are available at Bangkok borders that cost about 60 USD, which takes 3-4 hours. A private taxi is comfortable to travel to but becomes tiring as you need to change.

Travel By Train-

The train journey is exciting and comfortable, which takes about 9-10 hours to reach Bangkok city. However, there is no direct train from Siem reap to Bangkok. One needs to travel to Aranyaprathet Train Station by the other transportation mode, straightforward immigration process at Poipet. At the Thailand immigration office, take a tuk-tuk to the station. The train travels from aranyaprathet station to Hua Lamphong Railway Station, which costs around 1.90 USD per person. Other travel charges include a ride from Siem reap to Poipet costs around 12-20 USD, then a tuk-tuk to the station that costs around 2-4 USD.Â
